Brown bag re-vamped leftovers and save
Easiest way to save money is to not eat out, that includes going out to lunch during your work day. Re-working leftovers is also a great idea
Instead of going out to eat at work, take your own lunch. I have discussed in a previous post about the monetary benefits of not going out to eat. Bringing your own lunch is not only a healthier way to eat, because you are less likely to gorge yourself on food, but you can also stash that "lunch money" away to save it for something you really want to use it for.
To many people a brown bag lunch means that they will have to eat peanut butter and jelly or something gross. spice up your lunches with favs. Go and buy little snack size candy bars, low in calories, cheap ( beats buying them from the vending machine at work) and they are fun to have in your lunch. On average bringing your own lunch can save you serious cash.
Leftovers are always great options. They can go to work with you in your brown bag the next day or be dinner for the family when you are in a hurry and don't have time to cook.
Plan your meals each week. You can come up with a list. If you know you're going to have left over BBQ chicken, make BBQ chicken pizza for the next night for example.
If leftovers aren't really your thing make soup and freeze it!!It's so easy to can or freeze soup. This is so inexpensive, saves you time and money. You make 1 meal and have enough to freeze and store away for another 1-3 meals, depending on how much you make.
