Video game savvy

Video games can become pricy and we all know that new systems come out all the time. Thus making current consoles obsolete. Any gamer or budding gamer understands that this hobby can become quite expensive. There are many tricks to getting more bang for your buck when playing games. You can join an online client that houses your games. You can also trade in your old games for new ones and save on new purchases

Knowing/learning tricks on how to enjoy your gaming experience and how to enhance your resale value of your games that you no longer play is priceless.

Trading them in:
One way to keep within a budget for video games and the ilk is through trading them in and recycling through companies like Best Buy and Gamestop. You can also join their rewards program in order to get more for your trade-in value and receive in store credit to utilize on other games.  This is a great way to go out with the old and bring in the new. This system itself can be useful, but when combined with some of the program perks and offered through some of the companies (e.g. bonus in-store credit for trading game towards a specific new title, bonus trade value for having certain memberships, bonus trade value for in demand games, etc.), this sort of trading can end up saving many gamers a lot of money.

Extended play:
Buy video games that have a large amount of replay value, and don’t acquire new ones until you’ve mastered what you have. I used to just play games to play them. Now that I am older and a more proficient gamer it behooves me to focus on games that can be played over and over and over again, and on something I can master. Purchasing more involved games are great bang for your buck. You will spend more time completing these games and there are usually more than 1 kind of quest or adventure to complete.

Online options:
Steam, an internet-based digital distribution platform, is also a PC client that collects your games in one easy to manage collection. Thus allowing for total access to the games any time you feel the desire to play them. Purchasing a virtual, or downloadable copy of the game rather than a hard copy of the game is an excellent way to save large amounts of money on gaming. By simply having an account (and the steamclient) you will be informed of various sales that occur on all kinds of games, and there is almost always one sale or another going on through Steam. Some of these sales allow you to purchase current blockbuster games for fractions of the normal retail cost of getting a hard copy.

Once you are finished with a game, the steam client can facilitate trades between different steam users, usually offered through forums that are linked to each game. This provides gamers who use this service the ability to  purchase games and have a myriad of others to choose from at a later date. The process is simple and can allow people to trade older games (or not so old games) for games that they might actually want to play currently. Steam.com offers it's clients the ability to trade and swap games with other users.  This is an inexpensive way to enjoy PC and console games.
