"I've got money yes I do, I've got money how about you?" Consider me your money saving cheerleader. Pennies are nearly useless in our currency today. Think again, they add up and you can utilize them to save some cash. What about saving $365/yr or even $500. Don't think you can squirrel away money effectively. Well read and learn....
How can something as simple as saving 100 pennies a day help you? That's a great question. We are taught at a young age that pennies don't matter anymore. We just toss those useless coins out the window of our cars or down the sewer drains. I remember when I could buy penny candy and that was only 30 years ago. Now these coins are seen as trash and things you give to a child to put in their piggy bank. I am a parent and I will tell you that saving these beauties in a piggy bank is a great idea and it's not just for children anymore
I have an idea:
Have a jar near your front door or on the dresser in your room. Make sure it has a lid and that you don't need to move it all the time. When you walk in the door take off your coat and empty your pockets. Ladies dump out your purse and put all that extra change from the bottom of it into the jar.
Seems simple enough right? How can this add up it's just change right? Well just watch as I calculate you into monetary bliss.
Let's say for a few days you drop in roughly $1.37 each day (from your coffee, the leftover change from getting lunch or dinner, that shirt you bought from the department store, etc) It all adds up.
$1.37 X 7 days = $9.59
Nearly $10 in that change that you would normally toss away. Not enough for you? Well how about doing this for 4 weeks, a full month.
$1.37 X 30 = $41.10
Getting better?
How about seeing that on a grander scale and looking at it after 1 year.
$1.37 X 356 = $500.05
Now that's what I am talking about. The nice thing about this routine is that you will actually begin to stop and think about what you are doing with your money. Like when you would normal toss your money into the car or give it to your kid or whatever else it was that you would do with extra change. Now you can invest in you adn make your life better by saving up money for what you really want.
